Beetlejuice Returns to Atlanta's Fox Theatre!

It's showtime! The ghost-with-the-most is back in Atlanta as Beetlejuice The Musical returns to the Fabulous Fox Theatre for a limited engagement June 11-13, 2027. Based on Tim Burton's dearly beloved 1988 film, this hilarious Broadway hit tells the story of Lydia Deetz, a strange and unusual teenager whose whole life changes when she meets a recently deceased couple and a demon with a thing for stripes.

With an irreverent book by Scott Brown and Anthony King, an astonishing set by David Korins, and a darkly comedic score by Eddie Perfect, Beetlejuice has been hailed as “SCREAMINGLY GOOD FUN!” by Variety. And under its uproarious surface (six feet under, to be exact), it's a remarkably touching show about family, love, and making the most of every Day-O!

5 Performances Only!

This limited Atlanta engagement features just five performances over three days:

  • Friday, June 11: 7:30 PM
  • Saturday, June 12: 2:00 PM & 7:30 PM
  • Sunday, June 13: 1:00 PM & 6:30 PM

About Beetlejuice The Musical

Beetlejuice premiered on Broadway at the Winter Garden Theatre on April 25, 2019, following an out-of-town tryout in Washington, D.C. Despite initially modest reviews, the musical became a surprise sensation after its Tony Awards performance went viral—the most-watched musical number from that year's broadcast with over 3.9 million views. The show's songs exploded on TikTok, with tracks used in over one million videos, driving a new generation of fans to Broadway.

The Broadway production broke the Winter Garden box office record before being shuttered with the rest of Broadway on March 12, 2020. Beetlejuice returned triumphantly on April 8, 2022, at the Marquis Theatre, where it continued to haunt Broadway through January 8, 2023. The national tour launched shortly after, bringing the ghost-with-the-most to audiences across North America.

The Creative Team

Beetlejuice features a Tony-nominated creative team:

  • Direction: Alex Timbers (Tony nominee)
  • Music & Lyrics: Eddie Perfect
  • Book: Scott Brown & Anthony King
  • Choreography: Connor Gallagher
  • Scenic Design: David Korins (Hamilton)
  • Costume Design: William Ivey Long (six-time Tony winner)
  • Lighting Design: Kenneth Posner (Tony winner)
  • Sound Design: Peter Hylenski (Tony winner)
  • Projection Design: Peter Nigrini (Dear Evan Hansen)

The Story

The musical diverges from the film in significant ways. When the Maitlands (Barbara and Adam) accidentally die in their Connecticut home, they find themselves trapped as ghosts—invisible to everyone except the depressed, death-obsessed teenager Lydia Deetz, whose father Charles has just purchased the house. Lydia is still reeling from her mother's death and feels ignored by her father and his new girlfriend, the eccentric life coach Delia.

Enter Beetlejuice: a demon who's been dead for thousands of years and desperately wants to be seen by the living. He convinces Lydia that if she says his name three times, he can help her see her mother again. What follows is a wild, hilarious, and surprisingly heartfelt journey through life, death, and everything in between.
